    • A captivating taste of Central Asia!

When I went to Kazan, I was specifically looking for a Central Asian restaurant, and thought this would be worth a go. I went at the perfect time, about 5.30pm, and was only one of two diners in the restaurant at that time. The first thing that struck me was the ambience. The restaurant's decor is quite grand, whilst the furnishings are similar to that of a typical Uzbek or Kyrgyz yurt. Very comfortable, and I was very energised by this experience. The food itself was amazing - the mutton with rice and pasta squares is both delicious and nutritious, and I would definitely come back here when I return to Kazan. The staff are also very helpful, and please do ask them what they recommend from the menu, as they're sure to point you in the right direction. Do try and get there early as well, as this is the best time to enjoy this restaurant.

    • Good service, good food

I have not visited many good restaurants in Kazan. Pashmir was definitely one of the better ones. Comparable to good dining in any of the European capitals. If I ever have to return to Kazan, I will only eat here.

    • Terrible service, below the average food

After a week in Kazan for a conference, this was our last meal in a restarurant, and I would say it was the worst one. Trying to ask for a seat or to order in English is far from easy (only a few staff understand a little bit of English). We tried to order several meals from their tatar specialities but they were not available, so finally we asked the waitress what was really available to order of and the choice from that list was limited to a couple of options (for example: only 1 soup available from the 5 offered, it was 20:30h on Friday night). We had to ask for our food several times and at the end the waitress recognized that she simple forgot the order. The food was below the average of pedestrian street restaurants in Kazan (at least the ones we tried during the week) and far more expensive. And a lot of more surprises (like two bills of unknown origin, or a coffee without sugar,...). The restaurant was almost empty except for a big (and extremelly noisy) party outside.

This was already the second visit to the restaurant. We where absolutely pleased with food and service. Attentive, friendly staff. The food was tasty and of high quality. Nice location at the lake - recommend to request seat on the veranda.

Full of good references I went with family and friends to celebrate my 60th birthday. Lots of disappointments: first the waitress didnt speak or understand a bit of English. Then when we set a minimum communication using Google translator we learned that the restaurant run out of many plates including caviar !! Can you imagine a prized Russian restaurant which runs out of caviar ? Well that one of the out of stock items. Food took more than 1 hour and was ok. Go eat somewhere else.
