    • I was very unimpressed by this hotel

I didn't expect to be sent out to a restaurant when meals were booked with the owners, but this is what happened. The breakfast bread was delicious, the breakfast very French but the fruit was pretty mediocre and fussily prepared for Costa Rica. Although the service was efficient, as we aren't French I didn't feel totally as if I was very welcome I also have a food intolerance and had to argue for having a piece of fish that wasn't dry, despite the chef being warned in advance, and its difficult enough when eating out without having to explain why I can eat some cheeses and not cream . The bedrooms were adequate, and had little quirky ornaments, the beach was wild and the walks were good. The gardens were not brimming with wild-life partly because of the hotels situation, the Palm plantations stretch for miles behind it.

Beso del Viento is an unexpected gem, tucked away on a quiet dirt road, a stones throw from a spectacular beach. The ride in is on a bumpy dirt road. Don't let that deter you. The grounds are well manicured, with beautiful foliage. The pool is clean and well appointed with numerous lounge chairs and umbrellas. The property is across the street (3 minute easy walk) to a spectacular beach. The home itself is more than lovely: shining, polished wood throughout, lovely furnishings, attention to the smallest details. The included breakfast consists of fresh cut fruit, freshly made smoothies, eggs and a plentiful basket of crusty and flavorful fresh bread. The hosts are gracious and professional and the staff professional and courteous. We hope to return.

We've stayed at Bieso del Viento only for one night so my review is based on my experience during that time, therefore my rating of 4. The B&B is secluded, you are far away from the fuss of the Quepos area and road so you get the most if you want to relax away from civilization. It is right in front of the beach so mostly you have the beach front for yourself. As we all know with the Pacific unfortunately it's not the best for swimming, still you can get a nice sunset. The property is very nicely maintained, clean and you can park inside the property. The room we had quite a decent space, clean, I did appreciate the fact that the lady owner took her shoes off when getting into the room to show it to us as it rained and it was a bit muddy. I loved the small attentions in the bathroom like the cotton pads. The only thing which I found uncomfortable was the WC. Not low enough to put your feet down, not high enough to put them on the side. A bit weird but something you can move over as you are not living here your whole life. The room was cutely decorated with fish motives and you had also a few interested books to read. Like I said not the biggest room but enough to move around and open your luggage. I cannot comment on the dinner as we did not have, however I can comment on the breakfast as we've been to few others hotels in Costa Rica which were around the same price range. I really appreciated the fact that the smoothie was actual smoothie and I could hear the owner making it right then in the kitchen when we sat down. I had such a shock seeing that smoothies in Costa Rica means frozen fruit with water which makes up for a weird taste that I could not believe I was getting a real one. The coffee was really good, they have us a full plate of fruits (as oppose to other more "fancy" hotels where we got one piece of banana, papaya and watermelon), a big piece of butter and toast and milk. That for me and my boyfriend was more than enough to start the day with. The owners were really hosts and not just owners. They gave us indications as to how to get to Manuel Antonio and how not to get fouled by the fake guides on the road, as well as a map of the area. We stayed for one night so as easy they could have said bye bye and not sit with us for half an hour to make sure we understood everything right. The only maybe sad thing for me is that the place is adults only but then again it's a choice of the people owning the place and I cannot commend them for it. The fixed hours around check in and check out and serving food might be a bit "uncomfortable" but then again it's something they make clear on their booking advertisements so you cannot say you are not warned in advance. If you do not like it then there are plenty of places around you can stay that will accommodate everybody's needs. All in all a very nice place to relax away from all the busy things in life.

Absolutely Loved this place! The location is in nature right across from a peaceful, uncrowded (like almost no one) beach. The owners are wonderful, Elizabeth has lovely french touches throughout and although it is not fancy, is very charming and tastefully decorated, and impeccably CLEAN! They have created a beautiful property that has a lovely nature, garden, oasis feeling. Bernard is a world class chef, we had incredible breakfasts and every nights dinner and dessert was a treat to look forward too. Be sure to book in for the dinner in advance so they know to expect you, Because of their location they need to prepare in advance for dinner guests. We had the best fish and beef dishes of our lives there! It is a great place for people who want a relaxing, quiet place to stay , walks on the beach and great food, with an adventure to drive to during the day. We will highly recommend this place and return again.
