      we have just stayed at this hotel for 5 days 4 nights i came with my mum my cousin and my sis in law I must say the place not up to much rearly and defo could do with a full revamp however we rearly did enjoy our stay Maggie the receptionist was LOVELY I mean we couldnt fault her at all very pleasant on all occasions nothing was any trouble so big up to mags And also just would like to let anyone that will be visiting soon that there is a absolute wonderful English couple that own the gingernuts pub/restaurant just right of the hotel when coming out walk all the way up past the pharmacist and theres a shop its just Next door wow honesty they was so friendly and made the best English breakfast everrrr We also had lunch here and was just like being back at home proper brand stuff they was amazing people and want to say a massive thank you to them there names was Kevin and janenne honeslty guys make sure you make a visit you will not be let down

      Like others we experienced the complete opposite of some of the negative reviews left. Very relaxed with helpful staff, especially Maggie. When comparing this to other apartments, there wasn't many 3 star hotels with 24hr security, so no hassle on our arrival late at night. All rooms we were told have a sea view, particularly those on the higher floors. We stayed on the twelve floor, our apartment had three balconies with good airflow throughout the apartment. Rooms are basic but clean and the beds comfortable. Good location in the quieter part of Benidorm with lovely pool and all amenities, public transport and beach minutes away. We would definitely consider returning again.

      On arrival we were greeted by Maggie she is a lovely lady and was helpful throughout our stay . But after that our room was basic clean but needs a complete revamp as old dated and not in a good state of repair our towels were changed bedding was not changed or was the room cleaned at all we had to ask for toilet roll but in the end we brought our own because we didn't want to ask again for more the best part of the hotel was the fantastic sea views you would pay hundreds for that view.the pool area needs alot of repair sunbeds were all broken and was not very many at all the pool was cleaned daily there was no air conditioning even though it says there was on our booking with on the beach asked for a fan but didn't get one we all dragged our mattress onto the large balcony as far to hot in the room only one bedroom with 2 rickety beds and a pull out in the living room on our last night we sat on our balcony having a laugh it was only 11pm when we got a very loud bang on our door from one of the male staff who was very rude and abrupt told us stop the noise or he would kick us out right now and no deposit back of 200 euros if we did not stop laughing we were gobsmacked at how rude he was so we then went to bed we did enjoy all our holiday the old town has lots of bars etc beach 2 min walk taxi 9 to new town but no way would we ever stay in the ell faro hotel again

      Ive been home from this holiday for a week and trying to bring myself to actually write this review because Ive been trying to put into words how bad this hotel actually was. First of all, when we arrived at check in we werent even greeted pleasantly, there was a Scottish woman behind the desk who said a total of 5 words to us, that was passports, and the deposit she then took our passports and the 200 security deposit and told us that we would get it back the end of our 4 night stay. She then informed us of the hotel rules that were the standard no loud parties, no guests that werent staying at the hotel etc which we accepted and understood. We were a group of 4 21/22 year old girls away for a few days in the sun we planned to go out and have some fun but we didnt plan to get up to anything wild so we didnt think we would end up affecting anyone. We were then informed that when leaving the hotel on a daily basis we were required to leave our key with the reception staff which we had never heard of before but we still went ahead and done this anyway, we were very uneasy about this because when leaving the keys they were in pigeon holes behind the desk that were visible that the key was in there and the number of the apartment was written on the front or the pigeon hole. The desk was right at the front door and there was only ever 1 member of staff working both reception and the bar which was the other side of the room, so it would have been very easy for someone to have walked into the hotel and taken one of the keys from the desk whilst the member of staff was working the bar and went up to the room in which we were staying in and had also paid a 200 deposit for- and taken anything they wanted. They could have also taken our passports which were there in plain sight in our rooms pigeon hole. If this was the UK this would have literally been illegal. Another issue that we had in terms of the security of the hotel, my friend arrived back at the hotel at around 5am one day after we had been out, she had got lost from us and went back to the hotel on her own, to be greeted by the member of night staff who was ASLEEP on the sofa in the hotel reception area and she physically had to shake him and wake him up, this was appalling and yes we have laughed about it since but at the time we were so shocked at this behaviour. Now moving on to the physical apartment, the apartment itself wasnt awful it was the standard 1 bedroom apartment with 2 single beds and a sofa bed which pulled out to be another 2 single beds. There was a standard bathroom suite which wasnt technically clean to standards that I would expect from a hotel, given the 200 deposit we had just also paid but we just accepted it because we were so excited to be on holiday. One thing I will praise about this apartment was that the balcony was huge and we had a nice view of the sea and the beach from our apartment. In the 4 nights that we were there, we did not see a maid and we didnt not get our room cleaned, our sheets changed or clean towels. When we asked for more toilet paper we were looked at as if we were idiots, the apartment was standard and for a self catering apartment with no cleaner there was nothing to do our own cleaning up not even a cloth to wash the dishes with, never mind any form of washing up liquid or cleaning supplies for the apartment. During our 4 nights in the apartment we swept and mopped the place, including the balcony and we could honestly say by looking at the state of the water this place had not been mopped for a LONG time. We also bought cleaning supplies to clean the kitchen, and did this on a daily basis. Through our stay at the hotel we didnt cause any bother we just went to and from the apartment, made use of the pool area and went out on an evening, the strip was 12 each way in a taxi we didnt know that the apartment was so far away when we booked the holiday but it wasnt a big deal. Upon check out (which was 10:30am) we had just cleaned the apartment the day before and we had taken all of the rubbish to the bin down the street and we had bagged up all the rest of the rubbish into a black bin liner. We left a few things lying around on the floor there was a couple of plastic bottles but nothing too bad, we had washed up all the dishes and left them draining on the sideboard and the bathroom was clean, the dirty towels were left in the bathroom in a pile and the dirty bedding was all also left in a pile. One thing that I will say we did that we probably shouldnt have was that we left one of the beds outside on the large balcony, however this had been done for a reason as when we had booked the apartment it had been advertised to have air conditioning and then we realised in fact it did not, I came down with very bad tonsillitis when we were away that actually resulted in having to go into hospital when I returned home, so I was running a temperature and needed to sleep in the cool. We should have probably dragged the bed back into the living room before we checked out, but as the beds would need to be moved to sweep and mop anyways we didnt think it was too much hard work. Upon check out the Scottish woman who was running the hotel was so rude and insulting to us, she spoke to us awfully and told us that the room was disgusting. We explained to her that we had swept and mopped and cleaned the room for her since we had been there, there was no clean towels or bedding offered and if we were here we would have been extremely embarrassed to even have the right to tell anyone that we left the room in a worse state than what we walked into it to be. She deducted 30 from our security deposit as she said she now needed to get someone in the clean the room, this confused us as we had been there for 5 days was she not expecting to have to send someone in to clean the room after a 5 day stay anyway? But we accepted this and explained that we were unhappy with the way it was advertised that there was air conditioning- the horrible old woman tried to undermine us by saying to show her online where it says there was air con so we pulled up the booking through on the beach- which it stated that there was air con in the apartment. All in all the stay was awful, this woman didnt appear to be kind to us or any of the other guests the entire time we were there, she had no customer service skills at all and honestly I now understand why she moved from the UK because her customer service skills would not have landed her a job here. Rude staff being one reason but as for many other reasons I have listed in this review, I would avoid anyone visiting the area to stay away from this hotel unless you want to spend your holiday using the same towel for 5 days and being spoken to like vermin.

      Me and 3 of my friends have just has the displeasure of staying here for four nights. Obviously we knew that we had booked a two star hotel as we were only really planning on sleeping here and not being in the room much. When we arrived we were charged 200 deposit (50 each) which we were not told about when booking. Luckily I checked the reviews on here so we kind of expected wed need to pay it anyway. Dont think its really fair to charge this much without letting people know. When we left the woman handed back our money and said There you go! Now youve got 50 for your last day! Couldve done with it before to be honest. When we got into the room it was a certified sweatbox. It was no cooler inside the room than it was outside in 30 degree heat. There was no aircon in the room and only a fan in one of the bedrooms. We had paid for a 4 person apartment and this only has 2 single beds in a room, a bathroom, a very small kitchen area and a sofa bed. This is a two person room with a pull out bed, not 4 person. No storage space apart from one wardrobe in the separate room so we were living out our cases for the 5 days. The room was very basic but it was clean, and we did have towels and fresh sheets. The view from the balcony was stunning as our apartment was on the 12th floor and looked onto the beach which was less than a minute walk from the apartment. The balcony was a good size and had a table with 4 chairs. After a couple of nights, because there was no aircon it was extremely difficult to sleep in and get ready at night for going out. Especially with 4 of us in the room. We were not told about the fan (We named the fan Rachael) until we asked on the second day if we could have a remote for it. The guy took 20 and said we would get it back at the end. We didnt mind paying if we could cool the room down. Safe to say, the fan did nothing but circulate hot air around the room. As soon as you looked in the other direction, it had turned off or slowed down. As soon as you stopped giving it attention, it stopped working. Bad Rachael. Not once did the cleaners come to change towels, sheets or clean the room. I wouldnt have minded so much about sheets for 4 nights normally but because it was so hot, we wouldve liked fresh sheets and towels. The floor was also really sandy as we went to the beach most days. Me and my friend ended up cleaning the place ourselves the day before so that we wouldnt get charged. (The other 2 didnt help - lazy) The pool area was run down, tiles falling off the pool and the steps going down to the pool area. My friend snapped a tile walking down and all they done was put a wet floor sign over it even though small children were there. (Was he bothered? No) There wasnt enough sun loungers, probably less than 10 in total and all the leftover ones were broken. My friend asked a woman by the pool if the ones stacked up in the corner were available and the woman said yes, then laughed as we realised they were in fact broken (cow). We had to lie on grass with towels which was jaggy and my friend stood in a big muddy puddle near the showers. The pool looked questionable, didnt see it get filtered or even cleaned once during the stay. Our flight wasnt until 9:40pm on the last day and we asked if we could pay to keep the room longer or at least somewhere to shower later on in the day and were told No with no explanation which is ridiculous considering most hotels do this. (We wouldnt have minded paying extra except one of my friends who was really stingey on the trip). So as you can see, not great. Luckily the holiday itself was really good and we made the best of it. Ive given one star because I dont think its worthy of a two star rating due to all the negatives mentioned above. The one star would be for the staff who were friendly in general and always phoned us a taxi at night, the beach view from our balcony, the balcony size and the room which started off clean. Wouldnt recommend coming with families as 1. Kids are annoying when youre on a holiday with friends and lazy parents let the kids run riot and 2. Its not really a place where theres lots to do for kids and full of stag/hen parties.
