  • Experience World-class Service at Antica Residenza Montereano

With a quiet setting in the Umbrian countryside, Antica Residenza Montereano is 5 km outside the historic town of Gubbio. It has a summer swimming pool and produces its own olive oil and crops. The accommodation comes with terracotta floors, wood-beamed ceilings and antique furnishings. They offer a flat-screen TV and en suite bathroom. When booking a room, a sweet Italian breakfast is served each morning in the breakfast room overlooking the garden. Dating back to the late 1800s, Montereano Antica Residenza is surrounded by greenery and tall trees. It is right near the border of Umbria and Tuscany and is ideal for visiting both regions.

I stayed in this beautiful place a couple of nights and everything was just perfect. Comfy beds super clean rooms and relaxed area. The view from the room is amazing and there is also a nice pool to enjoy even more! The food and pasta prepared there is organic and very very delicious. Can't believe this place is just so lovely you don't want to leave. Thanks to the people working there specially Andrea for all the help and hospitality. Ciao!

    • Very good all round

We stayed in the Cedro apartment for two nights at the end of September 2018 for a most reasonable E153 (bed only, non-refundable, for 2 nights). Andrea was a pleasure to deal with; knowledgeable, informal and hospitable, even though we were the only guests at the end of the season. The house containing the various accommodation options is situated atop a hill (with a view of the old city in the distance and the of undulating woods in the more immediate surrounds) in the outer suburbs, shopping areas and small holdings (all rather pastoral if a little flat and dull) south of Gubbio. You will need a car to access it. Do not use the GPS co-ordinates to find it - we were led astray along a mountain track that went nowhere! Use the actual street address rather. The apartment was spacious and pleasantly furnished, without frills and unnecessary embellishment; it was great to have our own kitchen for a change where we could prepare some of our own meals without having to drag ourselves to distant restaurants (and there seemed hardly any around this area). My one and only criticism was that the double-bed mattress was too soft. We had breakfast on one day which was really very good, and specially prepared just for us at E10 each. Unfortunately is was a tad too chilly to enjoy the pool which is prettily situated alongside the historic farm-house. Gubbio itself is a beautiful and interesting town to explore. On Andrea's recommendation, we also went to Urbino for half a day which is about an hour away. Also a delightful place. A worthwhile and interesting place to stay.

    • Fantastico !

This place is magic. The views, the big casale, swimming in the pool at 8 AM, the beams of the Quercia appartment, the kindness of Alberto, Andrea and Giacomo. Only one thing missing : animals, would have loved cats and dogs around. Breakfast was OK. The agriturismo and Gubbio are true gems. Will come back !

    • Perfect stay in country outside Gubbio

A very special place, perched atop a hill with stunning views of Gubbio and the Umbrian country side. Our nice room, in a building where Andrea's grandfather used to make wine, also houses the room where a delicious breakfast is served - with organic ingredients from Andrea's farm. And don't forget the refreshing pool with outstanding views. Andrea is such a welcoming host and has great pride in his farm and the region. He made our family a delicious lunch which we took on a drive to a small mountain overlooking Gubbio. We will dream of returning.

Our second stay at Montereano was even better than the first. Our balcony with its views over the most beautiful medieval town of Gubbio and surrounding hills was charming. Many thanks to Andrea and Tamara for their exceptional hospitality and kindness. Nothing was too much trouble to increase the comfort of our stay. Gubbio in our view is an excellent centre for exploring this part of Italy with the residence location giving easy access to major roads. The swimming pool provided welcome relief on warm days. A place for relaxation.
