    • Good location for exploring Adalucia

We stayed for a week as part of a tour group. It is a good base location for exploring Adalucia as it is centrally situation between Seville, Granda, Ronda, and Cordoba. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The decor is a bit old and tired looking and there were issues in the rooms of some of our group with water coming through the roof when it rained hard. The breakfasts and dinners are buffet style and the food was generally quite good with a reasonable variety. There were occasionlly issues with replenishing the buffet, but this was not too much of an issue. The hotel is located about 20-25 minutes walk into the centre of the town of Antequera, which is itself worth exploring.

    • Adequate and comfortable with excellent pool and terrace and friendly staff but problems at breakfast and dinner

Stayed here with a Rail Discoveries group. Bedroom comfortable but tired needing redecoration. Service in Bar a little slow. Very good pool and other facilities. However, the scrum for the buffet at breakfast and dinner was unacceptable. Why there cannot be a separate buffet table for starters and the main course I do not know. Also the tables were so close to each other in the group dining area that it would be dangerous in an emergency

    • Lovely hotel but a few issues of buffet rage

A traditional hotel with a huge marble floored foyer. A bit dated perhaps but has character. Our room overlooked the pool and we had no trouble with the noise that other post suggest. No kettle or tea facilities. The bar was dated but had a charm and the service was swift and pleasant - alas no lemonade or sherry! But it was nice to take a drink out into the courtyard in the evening. We booked in for half board and had breakfast and evening meal in the hotel buffet. Breakfast was fine but early evening the 200+ guests all descended on an inadequate sized buffet between 7.30 - 8.30. We were slowly rotating the buffet three deep at times and there were a few incidents of broccoli rage. You could be waiting so long that hot food on the unwarned plates went cold by the time you got back to your table. Like with most buffets hot food was not at its freshest - a little dry/overdone. Some fellow travellers gave up and went into town to eat! The staff were brilliant and coped with the chaos brilliantly (Charo made it survivable) but this is a management issue. Eating was not four star. It was maybe motorway service station quality. I am saddened and this could be a brilliant hotel if the dining was sorted. An unexpected delight was the entertainment on Wednesday and Friday from 9.30. A great guitarist/singer accompanied a brilliant female vocalist on some Spanish classics. Unexpected and a delight. I would stay here again but would only book B&B.

    • Very good hotel

Despite some negative comments we stayed here for a week. We found that the whole experience was very good. The hotel was within easy walking distance (15 minutes) of the old town. The food was good and vary varied with a great choice of hot and cold dishes for breakfast and also much choice for dinner. When the hotel was busy the buffet could get a bit crowded at opening times but a short wait ensured that these crowds had gone and everything was then easy. Our room was spacious and comfortable with kettle, safe and wifi. The pool was never busy and it was always possible to get a sun bed either i the sun or shade. If we had to be critical it would be that the decor was a little dated although they were refurbishing rooms whilst we were there.

Just returned from a Newmarket holiday to Classic Spain and stayed at this hotel. The hotel accommodation was very good, room spacious and comfortable and pool and general areas were very nice. However the buffet meal times were quite unsatisfactory as the area given over to food was inadequate for the amount of guest leading to long queues and replenishment when items ran out was much too slow.
