Good food, better experience!
ReviewedIf you find yourself anywhere near Llafranc during your summer holidays, looking for a good restaurant and "something different" you can't miss out on this Restaurant/Hotel in Llafranc. There are 2 parts to the story, the food & the experience. But first a bit of (hi)story: The place is a family owned business since 1958, a family proud of it's gipsy origins and of the great impact they have had in the town. Currently the most famous family member around is Carles "Rambo", a man with a smile for everyone, a man who make's everyone smile. The food is still done following famility recipes, such as the Arrs Negre aka "Black Rice", which has NO squid ink (unlike most of black paella's) but rather the color comes from the "caramelized onion" which is slow-cooked for long hours. DEFINITELY a must try. Fresh sea products and overall good quality of food makes is a perfect place for lunch or dinner with views of the sea. Staff is very friendly, but most of the time are overwhelmed by the amount of work (the place is usually full, so make sure to call for a reservation). Be ready to wait a bit above average time for your food to get to the table...relax, you're on holidays! Order some wine and enjoy the sea breeze coming in. Now comes the "experience", saturday nights are the busiest days during summer and for a good reason. Every saturday after dinner is over, music starts playing inside the restaurant and people start closing in on the place...(Those unaware, wonder what is the reason for so many people suddenly coming in for a drink) This is when the party starts and usually lasts until 3am. Not to spoil the experience, I'll just say: Be ready to have some fun, seeing "Rambo" in action will be one of a lifetime experience. The place gets very crowded, so you're either inside early, or you'll have to watch it all from the outside terrace.

477roymLovely Restaurant !
ReviewedThis restaurant is part of the Hotel Llafranch, right on the seafront. An attractive and very traditional restaurant with clean crisp white tablecloths. A varied menu, a la carte or menu of the day on offer. Pleasant and friendly staff. An enjoyable evening with good food. Whilst you are here, it's worth having a stroll around the hotel to see all the memorabilia on the walls, with numerous photos of famous people who visited here, going back to the 40's and 50's ........really interesting !!
westcoastboyAuthentic Catalan/Spanish food with a view
ReviewedThe host is a lovely man with a broad Catalan accent. We chose to sit in the cool inside, but the windows were sparklingly clean, so it felt like you were outside. The food is pure, good quality ingredients. The best ansjovis I have tasted in my life, soft, fresh and dainty salted. Catalan families having lunch alway good sign. Personally written thank you note on the wall from the Iron Lady. Political preferences aside, that must at least mean they have been delivering quality service and food for some years.
