This is hands-down the dirtiest hotel Ive ever stayed at. I stayed for 4 nights and my room was never cleaned. The floor was never vacuumed, the toilet has never been cleaned (which was obvious because there was a hair and long string on the back of the seat) there is hair at the bottom of the shower, and the trash was never emptied. I had to call the front desk to ask if my bedding could be changed since there was hair in it and a blood stain on the sheet. I expected the following day that my room would have been cleaned for sure since I had to complain the previous night. I was wrong. I absolutely cannot believe that we had to call down to the front desk a second time. Perhaps the worst thing is that when I asked to speak with a manager I was told there is no manager on site and that she is on vacation until Tuesday. I will not be able to speak to anyone until then. I look forward to speaking to the manager (whenever that may be) to see how they plan to address this situation. I highly advise against staying here.

    • Clean, Spartan, not ideal for business

Rooms reminded me of hotels in Eastern Europe before the Berlin wall came down. Very spartan and kind of cheap (feels like you stepped into an IKEA showroom). Definitely a different part of the Marriott portfolio and depending on the price, it may be a good deal. The lobby had only one person working in the morning which was a hassle for checkout as two individuals who appeared to be traveling for the 1st time were arguing about some discount they were "supposed" to receive while the front desk person patiently pointed to the paper that they gave her and noted they were not eligible. Kudos for to the front desk person. Anti-kudos to the general manager who had only one person working at the front at peak checkout time 715am for biz travelers.

    • Nice Modern Hotel

The rooms are large, with everything you might want, except for a microwave. Bathrooms/shower is very large. Breakfast is not free, and the WXYZ lounge isn't for kids, so no real restaurant on-site. Pool is nice, but a little chilly. Location is good, only one-half mile from an outdoor mall with many dining options.

    • Cold, no character, modern, front noisy

It had promise, was cheap and didn't need earplugs - according to Marriott site. First where is the main entrance? Okay if you park in the back you can take the elevator up, if the door is unlocked, overwise park on the street around the corner from the "entrance". NOTE NO FREE BREAKFAST. Suites very basic poorly laid out, sort of empty. Sink and cabinets in main room look like they should not be there, refrigerator is next to bathroom sink not in the cabinets in the main room! No artwork and chairs against wall made it seem room was never planned out. Bathroom shower leaked all over floor, then bottom of shower door fell off. This a cold hotel, meaning no character. Did I mention LACK of breakfast? Okay so a bowl of cardboard cereal, milk and a tea was $7. Hot and weird breakfast sandwiches were $10. Best thing was the WXYZ bar and the hostess could upsell anything - she was wasted there. Don't get a room in the front- it is noisy.

    • Terrific hotel especially for a large group

Recently stayed here for a hockey tournament and could not have had a better experience. The Director of Sales, Jared Folsom went above and beyond to make sure not only the booking process for our team but our experience while we were there was flawless. He was so professional and really understood what team groups are looking for from a hotel. The beds were the most comfortable hotel beds I have slept on in recent memory and the lobby had a super fun vibe that made both the kids and parents happy (kids could play pool, corn hole, or Jenga while the adults enjoyed perfectly crafted cocktails at the WXYZ bar). We will be coming back for sure next time we are in the area for another tournament or even just for a weekend getaway. If you are on the fence about where to book your stay, Aloft is sure to exceed expectations.
