Mona and Stefan and their Al Lago team were just fabulous! We were let down by a Airbnb host and they literally sheltered us, fed us fabulous food and their staff chatted to our boys whilst they found us alternative accommodation because they were full. We ate there twice and Stefan and his team created superb food whilst we sat looking at their fabulous view of the Lake. Our son has an allergy and they catered for that and had an incredible vegan paella whilst our boys ate the tastiest ribs. A hidden gem!

We stayed at Al Lago for one night but were very impressed by the charm of the hotel. Our room (#5) had an nice view on the lake and the hotel's and restaurant furniture and decorations gives an impression of being at home. Above all the staff is extremely friendly and we can only recommend staying at this peaceful hotel and spend Dinner there.

We stayed here for two nights room number 6. The room was the de lux . Really nice room but the noisiest as over the bar. Ok until closing time when we heard the constant drone of possible a dishwasher. The clattering of pots and pans et etc. The good bits The food choice was excellent apart from breakfast that was a little disappointing and there was no allergy information on show. ( maybe if serving cake with nuts it should say so) The room Although sorted straight away our bed linen was still wet ( yes remade with very damp linen) Lots of dusty areas on the bed frame and along the tiles in the bathroom. Sparse supply of bathroom amenities ( only shampoo) two tiny bottles for a two night stay. Free water but no small fridge ( warm water a no no ) Overall a pleasant stay but need to get your house keepers sorted.. cant believe they would prepare beds with wet sheets . We believe this not to be just our room . We paid 122 each night + Dinner on both nights so all in all an expensive stay. A small fridge. Beverage tray , tumblers in the bathroom & more toiletries would have made a huge difference. I would highly recommend the restaurant though . The staff very lovely .

The location of the hotel is good for exploring the area. The village itself has a few restaurants, and there is a castle with amazing views if you don't mind the walk. Our room (#6) was spacious and nicely decorated with a comfortable bed and two French balconies from which we had a lovely view of the lake. The breakfast was satisfactory, the bar/bistro I would recommend for a drink rather than its food, but the dinner in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they made us feel most welcome during our stay. I would recommend Al Lago for anyone who would like a charming and quiet place to stay.

My husband and I stayed at Al Lago for 2 nights in mid-October 2018. It was our first destination in exploring Andalusian Pueblos Blancos. It was a delightful place to start. The hotel was in a very convenient location, with easy, free parking just below the hotel. The views from our little balcony to the lake and hills beyond were beautiful. There appear to be six rooms, all of which have balconies with those views. We were in room No. 4. There is no lift to the rooms, but our bags were taken upstairs for us. We planned to visit other hill towns of Ronda & Setenil as day trips, the next day. We got some very helpful information on parking & sightseeing in Ronda from our hostess. After the busy, interesting, but extremely tourist-filled visit in Ronda, it was a real pleasure to return to the tranquillity of Zahara. It's a wonderful little village & if you're up to the climb, the accent to the Moorish ruins & tower at the top of the village is definitely worth it for the great views. The hotel is very quiet at night & the room was very comfortable. It's a simple, very clean, well-presented accommodation. We had a tasty dinner at the hotel on the first night & a pleasant breakfast was included in the price. The staff were very friendly. The village of Zahara de la Sierra is well worth visiting, as it has a charming feel to it. And I would certainly recommend Al Lago as the place to stay during your visit. Thank you TripAdvisor for helping me to choose this hotel.
