    • Excellent food with stunning views

We were recommended La Ginestra by the owner of the b&b we were staying at in Positano and decided to walk up there on a (very) hot day. The food and welcome were very much worth the walk - superb local (homemade) produce at incredibly reasonable prices. There is no a la carte menu, you are given a tasting menu of amazing quality food - we had a huge antipasti selection with cheese, meats, vegetables, quiche, salads and croquettes - not forgetting the bread! This was followed by a lovely pasta course, with an option for another pasta course after that but we were absolutely stuffed. Though not too stuffed to have a piece of delicious lemon and ricotta cake :) All washed down with lovely chilled wine for the incredibly reasonable price of 45 for two people! This was some of the best food we ate during our two week holiday in the area - a definite must-visit! The views from La Ginestra are stunning, definitely worth walking up from Positano but it's a tough route so driving might be the better option for some. We are already trying to plan a visit to stay over at La Ginestra as I would love to see the agricultural side of the business, it seems like it would be interesting and lots of fun. Grazie for our excellent lunch!

Definitely recommend! Quiet with country atmosphere. Best to have a car to get down the hill. They did not offer a shuttle as described and was difficult to communicate in English. Great organic food, , very gracious accommodating owners. Would be great for a family reunion w. little kids as they have huge play area. Lovely place to walk around the tiny area for 1 day, otherwise will need a car. Scary drive up the tiny road to get to the farm. Glad we had a local driver bring us there and pick us up 2 days later.

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay. The place is lovely. Gardens all around full of flowers and they grow some of their own veg. The views are amazing at any time of the day and night. Breakfast is very basic - coffee, bread, jam, etc. We had dinner several evenings. Some were excellent, some so-so. The drive to Sorrento is a good 40 minutes of narrow, twisting, turning roads. The roads didn't bother me, but the distance was a bit much. The views really sell this place, but take into account its distance from "civilization".

Found it on an Italian website. We arrived late due to terrible Amalfi traffic but the hostess kept the kitchen open for us. It is in the middle of nowhere but after the insanity of the coast you are grateful for the quiet. Lovely people who run the place and you can buy stuff they actually produce on the farm. Great value.
