We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were spotless, the food was very good although we only had breakfast. The staff very helpful and friendly. Ideal to stop if youre passing through. Also there was private parking outside the motel

Wed not previously stopped here although weve been travelling past on a number of occasions. Lovely staff, good food at reasonable prices and clean toilet facilities. What more could you want? We had lunch of toasties and both enjoyed them.

I stayed in room 4, a single.. and the room looked like it was brand new! Very clean, but definatly a "no frills" experience. If you want your room serviced, you have to request it; understandable as most people would be using this for an overnight stay while on their way to somewhere else. Breakfast was included in the adjoing cafe..and was freshly cooked and adequate. TIP: Make sure you check in EARLY! I arrived at about 1830 on a Sunday, and had to pick up my keys from the service station next door. Some others were not so lucky; they arrived at about 1930 on a MONDAY, and there was nobody at all that could be contacted, even though their room was booked AND PAID FOR in advance!!!

We were impressed with the accommodation when we first arrived. Breakfast was a disappointment as there were only small boxes of children's cereals on offer and you had to prepare your own toast which we have never had to do at a B & B before. The atmosphere was a bit tense too in the dining room on our second day there as we could hear the owner shouting at the staff. The real shock came however, when we came back from a day out and found our bed as we had left it, cups not washed up - it was clear no one had serviced the room. What were we paying for we wondered? We had to go out and buy muesli and soap.We had no grumbles about the chef however as the two nights we stayed at the restaurant for dinner it was very good and the young waiter very pleasant.. There was no real warmth there however, no owner asking if you had enjoyed your day and no one in sight when we left, the office being locked. With some 'tweeks' this could be a nice place to stay but I feel they are trying to do too much and, sadly, failing on all counts.

WE found Pitstop last year and liked it a lot. So much so we stopped again this year based on last year's visit, on our way to Plymouth Same layout, toilets are clean, TV silent with subtitles, so far so good We ordered baguettes, tea & a coffee from a friendly waitress. Then it started to go wrong, mix up with my tea, a fruit one arrived, not bog standard ordered. Changed once we pointed it out, oh dear, the replacement arrived in a teapot with a lid that wouldn't shut, it was stuck half open. Something that surely should have set alarm bell ringing? Teapot changed & all well The baguettes sad to say were stale, we chewed our way through and decided, if a next time, to order the sandwich version When I paid at counter and in response to "Everything all right" ? I said the baguettes were stale and could've done with a quick nuke or bake to freshen them up. This was received with a shrug and no more I'd choose the sandwich option if I were you Not sure we''l go back on our next trip down the A35
